Coldwater Kansas is a small farming town near the Oklahoma boarder.
Coldwater has an unusual characteristic. For most months the low temperatures are rising while the high temperatures are dropping.
Coldwater's heat is increasing quickly in January and March. Lows are rising at 0.7'F per decade. Highs are rising at 0.5'F per decade. The green line shows that before 1985 january lows were below 25'F. After 1985 lows are above 25'F over half of the time.
In June Coldwater's high temperatures are dropping at 1.1'F per decade. Even so, the low temperatures are rising at 0.2'F per decade.
August is most interesting because the high temperatures are dropping at 0.8'F per decade while the lows are rising at 0.4'F per decade.
Boonville shows rising temperatures every month except September and October. The greatest rise occurs in March where high temperatures are rising about 0.6'F per decade.
The green line at 49'F shows that change. Before 1965 about half of the March high temperatures were below 49'F After 1985, none of March's high temperatures were below 49'F.
October shows the other extreme. October is the only month where both high and low temperatures show a downward trend in Boonville. The green line shows that the downward trend for lows may have ended.
